What is Christmas Like in Winter Garden?Winter Garden has long been one of Orlando's most popular suburbs to live in. One of the most popular places in Winter Garden is the historic downtown area. During the holidays historic downtown Winter Garden comes alive with the small-town charm everyone expects but with holiday glitter and lights.

Winter Garden Holiday Events in 2023

The city of Winter Garden sponsors community events in the historic downtown corridor from December 1 through January 7. Stroll all throughout the popular downtown area of Winter Garden and enjoy a variety of events and shopping and dining specials while taking in holiday decorations. The festival is called 38 Days of 'Tis the Season.

Light Up Winter Garden

This will be the 36th annual Light Up Winter Garden event. It will take place on December 1 from 6 to 9 PM to help kick off the holiday season in downtown Winter Garden. There will be a tree lighting at 6:15 at City Hall at 300 West Plant St. Following the lighting will be a collection of activities and live holiday entertainment. This event is sponsored by the city of Winter Garden and Duke Energy.

The Winter Garden Christmas Parade

Come early to stake claim to a spot along the parade route and bring your own blanket or lawn chair to get comfortable. This is a beloved holiday tradition in Winter Garden. This year's parade is on Saturday, December 2 and the parade kicks off at 10 AM starting on Dillard Street. The parade route loops through downtown and helps to usher in holiday cheer throughout the season.

The Popular Holiday Market

Experience a traditional outdoor holiday market just like you would expect to see in a historic small-town atmosphere. This is a pedestrian-only market on Saturday, December 2 from 1 to 4 PM. There will be a variety of local vendors setting up booths along the streets downtown offering an assortment of unique items you won't find anywhere else. These items can include ornaments, baked goods, pet items, local art, crafted items, and more.

Enjoy the strolling Dickens carolers and get free hand-drawn holiday caricatures. There's also an outdoor children's story time and more additional events scattered throughout the market. Booths will be set up along W. Plant St. between Woodland and Lakeland avenues. There will be additional booths along S. Main St. and S. Lakeview Ave.

The Golf Cart Parade

It wouldn't be Winter Garden without the Christmas Golf Cart Parade. The parade will be on December 2 at 6 PM. It showcases elaborately decorated golf carts for the holidays parading through the downtown area. The parade is hosted by the West Orange Junior Service League and is one of the most fun unique Winter Garden community events.

Merry Winter Garden Light Show

If you love holiday lights you have to come out for the Merry Winter Garden Light Show on the façade of the Winter Garden City Hall. This is a fun show synchronized to music made possible by the city of Wintergarden. It is a 25-minute show that runs on a continuous loop from the hours of 6 PM to 9 PM on special December days.

Garden Theater's Holiday Show and Movies

Garden Theater is somewhat of a Winter Garden iconic landmark. During the holidays the historic theater offers special holiday programming. The theater will have live Christmas performances and will also be showing classic Holiday movies between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Horse-drawn Holiday Carriage Tour

There is something American classic Christmas about taking a horse-drawn carriage ride through a town square. You can grab a horse-drawn carriage ride at 104 S. Lakeview Ave. at the downtown pavilion. Carriage rides are courtesy of SOUL Haven Ranch. They will be giving 20-minute carriage rides to experience all of the amazing decorations throughout the historic Winter Garden downtown area. Carriage rides will be from 5:30 to 9:30 PM on special days in December.

The Farmers Market but Holiday

Winter Garden has an award-winning farmers market and the farmers market becomes even more fun during the festive holiday season. The market is on Saturdays throughout December with Santa stopping by to visit all the kids of Winter Garden. Santa will be in the market on December 9 and 16th from 9 AM to noon. He will be meeting at the gingerbread house at the parking garage plaza. The farmers market always has something great for everyone with over 100 vendors. Come and check out the extra special and unique holiday goods.
